Get Recced is what it says on the tin: a community for sharing stuff you think other people might also enjoy. Also a place to post playlists/fanmixes/fanfic you've made or enjoyed — introduce us to new canons with the force of your enthusiasm! We love that stuff. That's why we're here.
A few basic rules to keep the calm:
— Don't be a jerk. There's no need to belittle someone else's choices, or to start a nitpick session. Other platforms are more suitable. Curate your own experiences and disengage instead.
— Additionally, avoid offensive topics and language. Don't slur people. Don't be posting NSFW images; put it behind a cut and a warning. If someone asks you to warn for something you've never considered would need it, it is not your place to argue — make the warning and accept that your experiences differ from theirs. No harm, no foul.
— Follow the tagging/subject format for ease of access. If you're unsure, leave a note in your post and we'll help out.
Here's a basic format for a rec post:
And one for a rec request (req) post:
Tags should be applied as follows: Post type (rec post or req post); medium type (rec: manga or req: music); genre (manga: action or book: cyberpunk). Additional tags can include e.g. NSFW, Hard Kink, etc.
Subjects should be in the format of Music Rec: [name of artist/album].

Manga Rec: Gokushufudou | Way of the House Husband
Title: Gokushufudou | 極主夫道 | Way of the House Husband
Genre: Slice of Life, Comedy, Yakuza (sort of.)
Description: "Immortal Tatsu is an ex-yakuza who’s given up violence for making an honest man of himself - but is it still possible for a devoted stay-at-home husband to get into a few scrapes?"
Reason for recommendation: Shit is hilarious. The comedic timing and deadpan gags are amazing. The scariest yakuza in town is out here drinking Respect Women Juice every hour of his life and inspiring his former fellows to follow their dreams of making amazing crepes, fighting deathly battles against roombas. If you want something light-hearted that will also teach you life skills, check it out.
Find it: here on MangaDex, with links to official versions and purchase options.
More info: There's a live action in the works and I cannot wait honestly.
